There will be two two-day virtual workshops offered that are aimed at different timezones:

Overview
Each two-day workshop explores fundamental questions about teaching Artificial Life.
Day 1 focuses on the “Why?” and Day 2 on the “How?” .
We’re excited to bring together a diverse range of voices to inform our collective vision for ALife education.
Day 1: Why teach about ALife?
We’ll kick off by aligning on shared goals and learning outcomes for ALife education. Expect small group discussions and activities that surface both the challenges and opportunities ALife presents as a teaching domain and tool. The day also features specially curated presentations and a session of lightning talks showcasing ALife education success stories.
Day 2: How to teach about ALife?
Building on the goals developed on Day 1, we’ll shift to practical strategies. Highlights include small group feedback exchanges where you can workshop your own ideas, drafts, or teaching artifacts with peers. Experienced educators will lead introductory tutorials on effective pedagogical practices. We’ll close by building community momentum and planning how to support each other going forward.

Develop shared learning goals for ALife education and build a lasting community around best practices for maximizing impact.
Format
A virtual mix of presentations, discussions, and hands-on activities — designed to alternate between high- and low-interaction sessions with regular breaks throughout the day.
